2011 EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR

 Each year employment agencies have the opportunity to nominate a local employer who they believe is a good example of a business who embraces the practice of hiring and supporting employees with developmental disabilities. A committee analyzes the nominations and one employer is chosen. The employer receives an award at a Board of County Commissioner's meeting, and also gets to talk about their success at the Hire Ability Day luncheon.

2011 Employer of the Year: Fasteners Inc.

Fasteners Inc. is a master disrtibuter of a broad assortment of standard and specialized fasteners such as bolts, nuts, washers, screws, rivets, clips, clamps, wiring products, fittings, anchors, pins, rods and retainers. At the distribution center in Spokane, Fasteners employs two long-time employees with developmental disabilities. The General Manager, Bill Jones, said that Mark and Darrin are some of his top performing employess, with great attendance records and great attitudes. Mark has worked for Fasteners for over 18 years, and Darrin has been there for over 14! Congratulations!
