LUNCHEON
The 2009 Hire Ability Day Luncheon was a great success!
The Hire Ability Day Luncheon is an opportunity for employers who value diversity to come together with other employers who have hired people with developmental disabilities and their employees. The luncheon features local and national speakers addressing the issue of reaching out to an under utilized, qualified workforce.
Keynote speaker for the 2009 luncheon was Deb Russell from from Walgreen's, who talked about her experience developing distributions centers that use universal design to accommodate all employees both with and without disabilities. Previous years speakers are Brian Kingsbury from Safeway, Bret Stewart from Centertwist Inc., Auntie Anne's Pretzels, Seattle, and representatives from a large manufacturing firm from Georgia, and Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
