The 2011 Hire Ability Day Luncheon

was a great success!

The Hire Ability Day Luncheon is an opportunity for employers, who value diversity, to come together with other employers who have hired people with developmental disabilities and their employees. The luncheon features local and national speakers addressing the issue of reaching out to an under utilized, qualified workforce.

Keynote speaker for the 2011 was Cary Griffin, senior partner at Griffin-Hammis LLC.

Previous years speakers are The Honorable Neil Romano, Former Secretary to the
U.S. Department  of Labor, 
 Brian Kingsbury from Safeway, Bret Stewart from Centertwist Inc., Auntie Anne's Pretzels, Seattle, and representatives from a large manufacturing firm from Georgia, and Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Special guests at the luncheon were: 

  • Chairperson Brian Kingsbury, District Manager for Safeway stores
  • Chairperson Marty Gonzales, Director of Mobius Kids Children's Museum
  • County Commissioners, Al French, and  Mark Richard, 
  • Spokane City Council Member, Jon Snyder
