Participants
- 21 individuals with diverse work skills participated in the Morning On The Job experience.
- 36 individuals with a disability attended the luncheon.
- 250 business leaders, employers, employees, supporters and individuals with developmental disabilities attended the Hire Ability Day luncheon at The Davenport Hotel.
- Special guests included:
- Event Chairpersons Peggy Mangiaracina, vice president, Executive Director at Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital and Ted Solomon, owner of Digital Scanning and Imaging.
- County Commissioners Todd Mielke and Bonnie Mager.
- Representative Chris Marr
- Keynote speaker Deb Russell, manager of Outreach and Employee Services, Walgreen Co., spoke about how Walgreen's strives to make their distribution centers accessible to all employees.
Opportunity
We're seeking businesses to host a Morning On The Job experience for one or more individuals with a developmental disability on the morning of October 20, 2010. Participants will meet your employees and learn about projects or jobs suited to their skills. Participants will be appropriately matched to your workplace and accompanied by a job coach. The experience will last two to three hours.

The best part about Morning On The Job is that after a great experience with a potential new employee; you will enjoy a great lunch at The Davenport Hotel. At 11:30 join us for a complimentary luncheon where participants of Morning On The Job, along with business and community leaders will celebrate the power of developmental diversity in our community.
