RYAN KIPP

>back to success stories

Name:
Ryan Kipp

Employer:
Michaels Arts and Crafts, Spokane Valley; Nancy Creighton, Manager

Position:
Merchandiser

Solution:
Dedicated and accurate merchandise stocking, inspiration for greater staff teamwork and performance

Job duties:
Stocking shelves, craft demonstrations, and sorting inventory

Employer comments:
"Upon my taking over management of the Sullivan store (Michaels Arts and Crafts), it became apparent that my team was struggling to complete all of its daily duties. During this time, I was approached about hiring Ryan in a stocking position. Once Ryan started, a wonderful thing happened; all of our work started to get done each day. Since these jobs were not Ryan's responsibilities, I know that his enthusiasm and dedication to his job influenced my staff to cooperate, become a family and do their best. It was awesome. I have since hired additional employees with so-called "disabilities" and each one brings skills, dedication and professionalism that are unsurpassed."

Ryan's comments:
"Working at Michaels is not only my first job but my dream job. I get to do craft demos and I think they are a lot of fun. My co-workers treat me like I'm a part of the team and that makes me feel good."
